Uplevel Brings Wi-Fi 6 to Progressive MSPs and (Small) Enterprise Customers

November 30, 2022

New IaaS offerings deliver faster, more secure wireless networking to drive modern applications, digital transformation, and remote work

PORTLAND, OR, November 28, 2022—Uplevel Systems is announcing that its advanced infrastructure as a service (IaaS) solution now supports Wi-Fi 6 to give managed service provider (MSP) partners and their business customers powerful business advantages. Approved by IEEE in 2019, emerging Wi-Fi 6 or 802.11ax networking technology promises faster speeds, better security, and longer battery life.

“Nearly every aspect of today’s life and business relies on being able to connect wirelessly to the Internet—everything from restaurant menus and customer service apps to cable TV and landline phone service,” says Tom Alexander, founder of Uplevel Systems. “We’re moving quickly to adopt Wi-Fi 6 to give our MSP partners and their small- and medium-sized customers an essential business advantage; namely, the fastest, simplest, and most secure wireless networking available.”

“Wi” Now?

Wi-Fi 6 introduces intelligent techniques for utilizing wireless spectrum most efficiently to achieve throughputs up to 9.6 Gbps across multiple channels, a two-to-three-fold performance improvement over previous generations. As such, Uplevel’s new Wi-Fi 6 routers can reduce latency by up 75% to help MSPs dramatically improve customer experience.

“Our number one complaint from new customers is that the network can’t keep up with today’s business needs,” says Scott Toombs of Lexington IT Solutions in Lexington SC. “Uplevel solutions help us instantly resolve speed and capacity challenges in a variety of ways including SD-WAN, traffic prioritization, and the most advanced wireless networking available. Whatever the original issue is, we can make multiple improvements to deliver exponentially better results while making things simpler and more secure.”

The new generation of Wi-Fi 6 compliant routers and access points (APs) enable:

1. Higher connection rates and throughput to meet the demands of modern business applications, digital transformation, and remote work, and including:

  • Large file sizes
  • Gaming
  • Streaming video (Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc.)
  • Unified communications (UC) applications such as Microsoft Teams, Skype, and Zoom

2. Battery life conservation with intelligent signaling of radios to go to sleep when idle and awaken to receive transmissions

3. Security enhancements such as more secure connections to public Wi-Fi networks, better prevention of credential hacking, and more advanced data encryption

On November 30, 2022, Uplevel will host a webinar for current and prospective MSP partners titled, “Uplevel Helps MSPs Move Upmarket: New Product Release & Updates.” Renowned Wi-Fi technology expert and strategist Tom Alexander will overview the latest advances in Uplevel’s product line including Wi-Fi 6 and what they mean to MSPs and SMB customers.

Topics include insights for rolling Wi-Fi 6 out to customers as well as use of:

  • Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) to subdivide channels for transmission to multiple endpoints simultaneously
  • Overlapping Basic Service Sets (OBSS) to alleviate network congestion
  • Beamforming to achieve higher speeds
  • WPA3 to encrypt and safeguard passwords
  • Target Wake Time (TWT) to enhance battery life
