When a switch is unplugged or moved, the Portal flags it with a red Ethernet Switch is down notification on the customer’s configuration page. If the disconnect was deliberate, remove the switch from that site so the alert clears (and so billing stops counting it against that customer).
Steps
- Unplug the switch from the network.
- In the Portal, open the configuration page for the customer that’s showing the red Ethernet Switch is down notification.
- Click Ethernet.
- Click Delete Switch next to the name of the switch you have removed or relocated.
Within a few minutes the alert clears and the switch is no longer associated with that site.
