Quality Of Service (QoS)
The system has full support for modern on-premises and hosted VoIP phones and applications.

VoIP - Mission Critical for Small Businesses
VoIP phone systems of all kinds exist in every small business: "old-school" desktop phones, newer Wi-Fi phones, softphone apps on workstations, even Unified Communications Systems (UCS) setups. But all VoIP systems deal with poor call quality and reliability issues at one time or another. These are frustrating issues to solve, particularly for the MSP. Uplevel's comprehensive, automatically configured QoS helps address these.
Standard VoIP setups (either hosted or on-premises) are easily handled by enabling the VoIP QoS functions on the gateways, and 'reserving' bandwidth on the WAN link if needed, to avoid having data traffic interfere with voice. The gateways automatically prioritize VoIP for maximum quality. DHCP and firewall rules for on-premises VoIP servers are automatically handled. The system also simplifies 'daisy-chained' phones and workstations, and automatically sets up the VLAN tagging required.
If a second ISP link is available, Uplevel's fast automatic WAN failover allows many VoIP services to avoid dropping calls even if the primary WAN link goes down. The two links can be 'bonded' to load-balance traffic across them; the system will then continuously measure the quality (loss, latency, jitter) of both links and optimize traffic distribution to provide the best experience for the users.
Coupled with our autoconfiguring VPN connections, this brings many of the best features of Software-Defined WANs (SD-WANs) to small businesses, without the usual cost and complexity.
